Adding a YouTube Clip

Wizard's Guide on how to embed you clip

When you are viewing a YouTube clip you will see the URL and Embed options on the right of the screen

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

DO NOT COPY THE EMBED CODE

The only code you need to use is the part where I can have highlighted (see pic below)

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

If you just copy the URL and paste it into your reply window IT WILL NOT WORK

Some new code has now been added for you by the Admins so you can click on the Embed YouTube tab when viewing the reply window.

This will then show you a window asking you to input your YouTube ID
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

where I have highlighted in red in the picture above is the only part of the code you should enter into this window. Click OK and your clip will be added.

Alternative Route

You could copy the whole of the URL and paste it into your reply window, but then you need to delete a few things.

Below is the a URL address for a YouTube clip.

[url][sign in to see URL]

From the = part of the code you need to delete so you are left with this..... ncKMU1orq8k

To use the embed code without clicking on the tab, you will have to use this...

[*youtube=ncKMU1orq8k]

I've had to place a * to actually show you the code

When done, press the 'preview' tab to see if it has worked before adding it to your page

Resizing your YouTube Window

Below are windows which are the 'actual size' of YouTube windows which you can select depending on the size and layout of your board.

Runboard uses 638 x 382 as the default, this size
--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

If you want your window a different size then you'll need to enter some CSS code. Here are the size dimensions as explained by Lesigner Girl over at the Support Forums. I've added a coloured block to show you what the actual size would be if you would like to choose another size window

320 x 265

.postlistpostbody object, .postlistpostbody embed { width: 320px; height: 265px; }

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

425 x 344

.postlistpostbody object, .postlistpostbody embed { width: 425px; height: 344px; }

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

480 x 385

.postlistpostbody object, .postlistpostbody embed { width: 480px; height: 385px; }

--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--

If this has helped you understand how to do this, comments are questions are welcomed
