New Laptop

Hey Wiz, tis me again emoticon
I've got a Compaq Evo N610c laptop, is it normal for it to take a few minutes to shut down from the 'start' button? and why will it only come on when the power adaptors plugged in? I press the power button and nothing happens yet the battery's fully charged.
Thanks Wiz emoticon

ps..abso love the dragons on your page

New Laptop

Silly to state but have to say it. Is the battery inserted the right way round ?

Are all the leads inserted correctly and the power is on?

Some laptops have a switch to either use AC or DC only, have quick look and check in the owners manual to see the charging section.

If it is inserted correctly then either it's not charging from the adapter properly or it's faulty. Some new batteries need to be completly depleted of it power before being recharged.
