CCleaner Help...

I have used the program CCleaner.com version v1.41.544 for a long while and update it when needed..Good progam but I am afraid to use it for anything other than cleaning cookies?
When I click on the icon it goes to the program and I have saved/transfered cookies that I wish to keep over to the right hand box.
I then click on "Options" and then "Cookies"; it shows me the cookies that have been installed since last cleaning on my PC. I then click on run cleaner and by gosh they are taken away!!
I would like to use everything in the list of that is checked and clean much of that crap. The only thing is that when I tried it (a couple of times) it also throws out my username and password to websites such as this one. Then I have to go back and try to remember all of the passwords?
I know that there is one of those little boxes that holds the secret of not deleting them but I can't decide nor find it...Their help program doesn't cut it for me either...
Does anyone here know what to tell me..I like the program and wish to use it without the dang passwords being lost..??

Re: CCleaner Help...

Keeping password and username history can be an invitation to hackers to use your name against you. I know it can be a problem when it deletes these and remembering what username and password you signed up with, but its for the better.

There is a program which I use which can remember all your usernames and passwords securely called 'Roboform'. You can download and use it for free but gives you restrictions on how many you can add.

I've paid for the Pro Version because I liked it that much.

What is does is it sits as a toolbar in IE, go to Runboard, type in your username and password. Roboform then asks you if you want to save it, (type in a name for this entry I'd use Runboard), obviously it is YES.

It also offers a master password setting to allow you to use the program and no-one else if anyone is using your computer besides you.

Select a master password and remember it. Once you've entered it you can then select your runboard entry in the 'Logins' drop-down in the Roboform Toolbar. Select Runboard and it will fill in your username and password for you.

You can do this with any site which requires either a username and Password. So, go to a site where you are asked to login, then type in your details, roboform with then select this page next time you select it.

View and Download Roboform
