From PDF file to graphics program?
Is there an easy way to get graphics from a downloaded PDF file into a graphics program?
Ooops. I think I have put this in the wrong place. Sorry.

Re: From PDF file to graphics program?
Hi CD, here is a guide you can use depending on what version of Acrobat Reader you have. If you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat, not just the free Acrobat Reader, you can extract individual images or all images as well as text from a PDF and export in various formats such as EPS, JPG, TIFF.
1. Open a PDF file and go to the area you want to copy.
2. Zoom in on the area to be copied until it's the desired size. Images can only be copied at screen resolution (72-96 ppi).
Acrobat Reader version 4
Click and hold down on the Text Select Tool button. A toolbar flyout will appear with three additional buttons.
Choose the Graphic Select Tool from the flyout (third button)
Acrobat Reader version 5
Click the Graphics Select Tool on the toolbar or use the keyboard shortcut G
3. In the document area, drag a selection marquee around area you wish to copy
4. Right click and choose copy, or go to Edit / Copy, or press Ctrl-C on your keyboard
5. The selected area is placed onto the clipboard as a bitmap
6. Paste the image into another document, or paste it to an image editor and save it to your hard drive

Re: From PDF file to graphics program?
It's the free Adobe Reader version 7 I have Wizard and those facilities aren't available. I have managed to get round the problem by using the XP clipboard and then copying it into my graphics program. Finding the clipoboard wasn't the easiest job in the world either.
Thanks anyway.

Re: From PDF file to graphics program?
OK CD, here is how to activate the Clipboard for your future reference....
Start / Run
type in....clipbrd in the window
This will open the clipboard program.
OR
If you prefer, why not make a shortcut on your desktop to select it more easily, here is how...
1. Right-Click anywhere on your desktop
2. Select New / Shortcut
3. In the window that appears, type in clipbrd, press Next
4. Name the file Clipboard
4. The icon for the clipboard will appear on your desktop named 'Clipboard'
